Advent 2022: Hope

This weekend we marked the first Sunday of Advent, the Sunday of hope. Author Kaitlyn Schiess once remarked:
Advent is a good time to remember that “biblical womanhood” must include the scene in Luke 1 when two pregnant women celebrate their new motherhood by passionately discussing the overthrow of every earthly empire. “He has brought down the mighty from their thrones."
The hope we look to during Advent is not just the hope of Jesus' arrival long ago and what that means for our spiritual state. It is also about hope for the world now, hope that we can be involved in. The video below explores this side of hope using Mary's song in Luke's gospel.
I'm keeping things short this week and won't add anything to that except this carol to go with the theme:
